We’ll inspire kids, parents and teachers!

All of the programs include a puzzle handout (or coloring paper for younger audiences) and are designed to entertain students with the inspiration that sparked Miles and William to write a book. It may also include percussion (Djembe), music, movement or other poetry Miles and William learned or performed in their Grandma's backyard.

The programs can be combined to meet your needs and also includes real photos of Miles and William's grandma's backyard and a 15 minute DVD presentation of their journey.

This program includes a reading of the book and discussion about what it's like to be a young author, and where Miles and William got their ideas for writing My Grandma's Backyard; The boys also discuss how they got started, and what the process was like. Conversations with the class include information on what kinds of books Miles and William enjoy reading, what kinds of books the kids like reading and what they might write about if they were writing a book, etc.It includes a Q&A session during which students can ask Miles and William individual questions.
