Miles and William Rabun
Young Authors of Popular Children's Book
MY GRANDMA'S BACKYARD FOR YOUR AUTHOR'S VISIT?
"A few weeks after their visit, during our "writer's workshop" time, one of my little boys said very seriously that he wanted to work hard and get better at writing because he wanted to publish..."
ABOUT OUR FAMILY PROJECT
MY GRANDMA'S BACKYARD
Never too Young to Write!
Kids are inspired to read and write when they discover that authors can be real kids like them who dreamed of writing a book and did it. The presentation provided by Miles Rabun and William Rabun and their parents, who are from a family of educators, musicians and storytellers, comes alive in the telling of how the children's picture book, My Grandma's Backyard, was inspired, envisioned, written, and finally published.
It is contagious.
The Rabun family has always worked hard to encourage their young boys to read and write at an early age. The family also feels very strong about teaching the importance of understanding the basics of entrepreneurship, the value of money and the rewards of giving back to the community.
To provide information in a fun manner about the planning and work process that comes
with writing and publishing a book.To expose kids to the promise of dreaming big!
We offer the following two programs for guest author appearances: Young Authors' Life and the Life Cycle of My Grandma's Backyard and Young Authorpreneurs. The programs include a presentation about how a family project turned into a family venture which teaches the important values of reading, writing, investment, planning and giving back to the community.
